“Arena”: cinema on the beaches of Naples

Naples welcomes the summer with the third edition of Arena, the free open-air film festival promoted by the Municipality of Naples and co-financed by the Metropolitan City of Naples as part of the 2026 Metropolitan Events Programme.

From 5 to 28 June 2026, the festival brings great cinema to the city’s beaches, with free evening screenings at Rotonda Diaz – Lido Mappatella and San Giovanni a Teduccio, on the beach of Vico I Marina.

Following the success of the 2024 and 2025 editions, the festival confirms Naples’ vocation for transforming public spaces into places of culture, encounter and participation. Screenings beneath the stars become a collective experience, where cinema meets the sea, the neighbourhoods and the city itself, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to experience Naples through one of the most accessible and beloved art forms.

The programme is curated by NEST – Napoli Est Teatro, under the artistic direction of Francesco Di Leva and Adriano Pantaleo.

Each event is preceded by talks and discussions with directors, actors and special guests, moderated by journalist and film critic Gianmaria Tammaro, beginning at 8:30 pm.
