In Naples, patron saint festivals are much more than religious celebrations: they are moments of community, memory and participation.
With the fourth edition of “Blessed Are Those Who Experience Them”, the city renews its bond with its patron saints through a rich programme of events spanning the Municipalities and bringing tradition back to the places where it was born: churches, public squares, streets and neighbourhoods.
From 1 June to 17 October 2026, Naples becomes a collective story told through solemn masses, processions, concerts and performances, weaving together devotion, popular identity and urban culture.
The festival was created to promote the city’s intangible cultural heritage and reaffirms the role of patron saint celebrations as living traditions capable of bringing together spirituality, history and a sense of belonging.
These festivals reveal a Naples deeply connected to its rituals and traditions: a city that, throughout the centuries, has continued to recognise itself in its saints, neighbourhood celebrations, the sounds of processions and the participation of local communities.
They offer visitors and residents alike the opportunity to experience an authentic dimension of the city, where the sacred and the popular coexist naturally.
“Blessed Are Those Who Experience Them” is therefore an invitation to discover Naples through its festivals—not simply to observe them, but to experience, listen to and share them.
A five-month journey through the city's neighbourhoods, where devotion, music, performance and community life come together.
Why take part
To experience Naples in its most authentic form: through its communities, rituals, squares and traditions.
Patron saint festivals are among the most powerful ways to discover the city beyond its monuments, encountering its popular, spiritual and collective soul.
